From Auckland City take the North Western Motorway and State Highway 16, following the signs to Helensville. At the roundabout turn left toward South Head/Parakai, past the hot pools, for 18km. Wilson Rd is the first left after passing the turning to Shelly Beach. Approx travel time 55 minutes.

From the North turn right at Wellsford onto State Highway 16 and follow the signs to Helensville. From the East (Orewa, Whangaparaoa) take State Highway 1 towards Auckland. Cross the Northern Motorway then turn right into Pine Valley Road. At the end of Pine Valley Road, turn right into Kahikatea Flat Road. At the Kaukapakapa Stone turn left onto State Highway 16 and continue to Helensville. Continue through Helensville, and at the roundabout go straight ahead toward South Head/Parakai, past the hot pools, for 18km. Wilson Rd is the first left after passing the turning to Shelly Beach. Approx 50 minutes from Orewa.
